An Olympic Mind

Here is a snippet of a motivation letter I received from 2007 World Track Cycling Champion, Sarah Hammer. I hope you find this motivating.

"It' hard to believe that in five months our United States Olympic Team will be under the spotlight, performing in front of the biggest television audience ever - anticipated to be four billion people.

I think of something much greater. I think of my country.

You see, the Olympic Games in Beijing, China, this August will put the spotlight on all Americans.

Although I am currently the reigning World Track Cycling Champion, I know that my past achievements have intensified the pressure on me to perform. There are many incredibly gifted and determined athletes in my sport who want to win as well.

And the situation is no different for our swimmers, archers, pole-vaulters, decathletes , and gymnasts. In every sport, we face formidable challenges. China is putting together an incredibly strong team, as are Russians, Australians, and Germans, just to name a few.

To win in Beijing, we have to train harder than we ever have before. We have to stay healthy, even as we push ourselves to the limit."

The Bug

It has been affecting people all over the nation. No one is safe from it. The flu is a bad virus. I had it last year, and this year a lot of people who I know has gotten it. If you get it, you should see a doctor immediately. Do that could save you a whole lot of time suffering. He or she should know what medicines to give you because you will not be the only one with the virus who came to see them. As for me I wish I would have seen my doctor earlier. I had to just tough up until I could not take the suffering anymore. So if you do get the flu bug, act fast, and don't wait for it to cure itself.
Stay safe everyone.

The Need For Extra Money

It's kinda hard when you need some extra cash to fill your pocket and can't get it. There are so many things in the United States that can drain your money such as: bills, taxes, social clubs, stores, and people. This is just a small listing. Day by day you just look for your break-through. You might try hustling or you might go put in applications at different places. To everyone struggling with finances, all I can say is don't give up, you day will soon come.

Memories Up In Flames

The other day was a sad day for many. A old historical site caught on fire. The place has been around for years, and many people worked and played there. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to go visit it before it caught on fire. A local news station had online streaming video of the fire, and I could do was watch and chat with other watchers using a built-in chat on the site.

Black smoke poured in the sky as multiple fire departments used the surround and drown technique on the fire. But after a short the smoke was all white, and the fire was dying. A few pumper trucks stayed on the scene until the whole fire was out, to call it a day. No one got hurt though. To all the crew that was on the scene, Good Job !

Mix and mingle

To get anywhere in this world today, you have to learn how to mix and mingle with others. People can help or hurt you, but they can do neither if you avoid them. Sometimes being alone makes you depressed, but in the company of another, you night could turn into day. Answer this question: Would you like leaving this world not known by anyone? Get up. Get out. Meet somebody.

Yard Day

I have been trying to learn how to do some landscaping, but the only thing that I was successful at learning was how to kill ants. I was little scared at first when I came in contact with a giant ant bed. I poured some insect powder all around and on it. Those ants started coming out of the bed as if the American Ant Idol rejects were doing a duet. Do ants watch TV? I got out of their way fast. I hope the powder works in getting rid of them.

V Day

Today was a day in history. It was the day to vote for your presidential candidate and delegates. When I went to my local, there was a huge crowd of people. Young folks, old folks, men, and women showed out. As the votes come in and as the last one is counted, may the best man or woman win.
